2016: A year of surprises and achievements!
What a year! I cannot believe how fast 2016 has gone by. It was a year that has not only challenged me as a young business entrepreneur, but has also provided me with valuable life lessons and experiences. Luv Ur Skin has grown so much over 2016 and this makes me excited for what’s to come in the new year! Here is a snapshot of all the achievements and surprises that has made Luv Ur Skin what it is today!
June
June was a special month for Luv Ur Skin, as we officially launched our brand to the public and opened our first warehouse. With this space, we were able to provide our growing team with a working place and storage for our products.
July
During this month I was featured on Sharktank, Channel 10, 9 and 7 news! It was quite a surreal experience being on television. I was given the opportunity to pitch Luv Ur Skin, to business investors such as Janine who founded Boost Juice. Even though I did not receive a deal from the ‘sharks’, they were kind enough to offer their guidance and knowledge to help mentor me.
August
After my appearance on Sharktank, I took Janine’s offer and started doing work experience for Boost! I was working directly with the marketing team, where I was involved in helping Boost with their media communications efforts. Everything that I have learned at Boost, has become very valuable to helping Luv Ur Skin staying fun, bright and most importantly natural!
September
It was such an amazing surprise to be featured on Fortune's Magazine ‘18 Under 18’ Young Entrepreneurs list. I was mentioned in a list of young people that are not only intelligent but also dedicated to making a difference in the world. I was truly honored. My September couldn’t get any better, when I was also announced as CBA’s Australian of the Day. September was without a doubt an extraordinary month.
October
My dreams came true, when I was asked to be featured on The Living Room and The Today Show. I was able to spread the Luv Ur Skin message to everyone, and help show awareness to the importance for young girls to develop healthy and natural skincare routines.
November
November was a fun-filled month, as Luv Ur Skin was given an amazing opportunity to collaborate with Just Dance! at The Colour Run. It was my first time participating and it will definitely not be the last time either! I was also a sponsor guest performer and judge at the Fast Track Singing Showcase, where I got to connect talented young people with Luv Ur Skin. I can honestly say that 2016 was a year I would not trade for anything in the world and I hope that the new year will bring even better surprises and challenges for Luv Ur Skin to conquer, because we are ready!
