Just Run! My Colour Run Experience
In collaboration with Just Dance! I had the wonderful opportunity to run in The Colour Run for the first time! So I gathered up my very enthusiastic friends and formed the LUV UR SKIN team. The Colour Run is a 5K fun run that has participants covered in coloured powder every kilometer. It is a fun filled event that celebrates healthy lifestyle and individual uniqueness. Knowing that this was going to be a long run, I didn’t want to let my team down and trained to get into fit shape!
Even though it was a cloudy Sunday morning, the weather couldn’t dampen my excitement. I was ready to be a part of the #Happiest5k ever and I think my outfit showed that!
The event took place at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse, which was decorated with energetic people, food, dance and most importantly colour! As part of our collaboration with Just Dance! Runners could visit their booth and dance for the chance to win a pair of Luv Ur Skin’s colourful shoelace sets. It was amazing to see all the talented and lively dance moves! Throughout the event, the Luv Ur Skin team was also giving away some of our own goodies and people were loving it! After all that hard work was done, we took a little break to the Just Dance booth and had our own dance before we headed off to the race. We didn’t get the ‘Sorry’ dance moves down pat, but I think Justin Bieber would've been proud!
At 1pm sharp, we headed our way to the race starting line and prepared ourselves for the #Happiest5k! People were cheering and hi-fiving us through the whole race, it was like having your own cheer squad! When we finished the race, everyone looked like walking rainbows.
The Colour Run is definitely an event that I will participant in again next year! Thank-you to Just Dance! and The Colour Run for having my team and I there. It was a day that I will cherish forever! If this event has taught me anything, it’s that exercise can be fun!
