Summer Lovin’ Skincare Routine

Summer is my favourite season of the year! Berries, going to the beach, school holidays and ice cream are some of the things that I look forward to in Summer. However, hot and humid weather are not always the best conditions for your skin. It can actually lead your skin to developing breakouts! But have no fear, Luv Ur Skin is here to help. Here is a simple and effective summer lovin' skincare routine to help your skin stay fresh during these hot summer days.

 

Cleanse

The scorching summer heat and humid air can make your skin produce more oil than necessary. It is therefore important to wash your face every morning and night to help clear the dirt and oil that accumulates on the skin throughout the day. You only need to wash your face twice a day, so remember not to go overboard! Excessive cleansing can actually strip your skin of their outer protective layers, which can leave your skin feeling dry and irritated. Try our natural alternative Luv Ur Skin ‘Face Wash’, which is a pH balanced, gentle and effective cleanser that will have your skin feeling fresh for summer!

 

Moisturise

A common misconception for treating summer skin, is to skip the moisturiser. It is essential that your skin stays hydrated, so make sure that you moisturise according to your skin type. To prevent that sticky feeling on the skin opt for a lighter moisturiser, as heavy lotions can actually clog your pores, which may lead to breakouts. Our ‘Face Moisturiser’ is a super light and natural lotion that deeply hydrates the skin without that oily and sticky feeling.  

 

Sunscreen

Don’t get burned this summer, so SLIP, SLOP, SLAP. The UV index is the strongest during the summer, so it is important that you put on sunscreen to prevent any skin damage. Go for non greasy options that won’t leave a heavy feeling on your skin and go for a sunscreen that has an spf of at least 30 or more. Harsh UV rays can dehydrate and burn the skin, so make sure that you have your sunscreen on especially during 11 am to 4 pm.

 

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water to help replenish your skin during these hot summer days! Your body loses a lot of moisture in summer, so have fun making your own ice cubes filled with your favourite fruit and drop them into a glass of cold water for a great taste. Drink Up! And get glowing and fresh looking skin for summer.
