Crack Down on Dry Skin


It’s that time of year again, winter is the season for dry skin! A lot of you will be warming up your bodies by taking long hot showers or blasting the heater, but resist the temptation! There are long term damaging effects on your skin that may occur from these habits. Here are our awesome tips to help your skin retain it’s moisture and most importantly avoid that dull and flaky winter skin.
Exfoliate your skin
Dry skin tends to flake off, creating a thick layer of dead skin cells. This layer prevents your moisturiser from doing it’s job. You should exfoliate your skin once a week to remove the layer of dead skin, so that your skin to breathe. Nowadays there are many tools for the face and body to help you easily exfoliate, try to use one that is gentle but also effective in removing excess dead skin cells.
Hydrate your skin
Taking a long hot shower is one of the most damaging things you can do to your skin. Try taking shorter showers with lukewarm water and clean your body with hydrating wash to add that extra layer of moisture to your skin. The best time to moisturise your skin is after a shower because it absorbs into your skin easily.
